I had multiple injuries, when a small filling cabinet fell on me, that was on top of another, and it was not secure. The phisician from work released me since my MRI did not show anything on my back. One of the many injuries was on my knee after it hit me in two other places. I have recently transfer to a different position that involves being on my feet all day, and for the last two weeks I have been in pain. Can I request for a doctor to look at my knee and is it posible to still get an MRI, without having problems or questioning from work, and can they refuse?

That's a difficult one, for sure. I would think the time element of a year would have some negative results for you. I don't know as if the first question would not be, in an entire year and it is just bothering you now? Then you would state as you did above about the job change.
The only thing I can suggest is if the knee was damaged in the accident another MRI might show up an old injury even tho it's a year later. There could be something there that COULD cause you the pain now because of being on your feet all day.
I don't think they can refuse to do another one under the current circumstances that you are suffering from.

Let it be known that Workman's Compensation is not sweet. I was seriously injured and ended up in a wheelchair. I had knee replacements and still have a lot of problems. I still need more surgeries!!! They haunt you and watch over you like a parent as if you have done something wrong. It took me 4 years to win my case in court and I had to hire a high profile federal attorney because I was a federal employee. Yes I got paid but now I really miss working.. Money isn't the key to everything. Happiness comes before the almighty $$$$$ bill.

If you did not fill out the appropriate paperwork back when it happened, you need to do so now. Contact your Point of Contact for Worker's Compensation. If you filled out the paperwork and were released from the injury, but think new issues are related, contact your Worker's Comp POC and ask if you need to fill out a form for a new injury or recurring injury. Good luck.

Tell your employer that you still need to have your knee looked at, because it was hurt the at the same time as your back then, I would go back to the doctor that saw you and have your knee looked at. Use the same ID # that you did when you were first hurt. Explain that your knee hurts from the same accident. I wouldn't think there would be a problem.

Unless knee injuries were specifically mentioned and evaluated in the initial report, you're going to have a very hard time getting them covered under a year-old claim.

the only way you can qualify for workman's comp is if you are injured again on company property, or if your current injuries require you to take some more time off.

They can refuse. It has been almost a year, which sounds suspicious. For further help, contact your local labor board.

(every state has different laws regarding workers comp)

depending on what state you live in, I think you have up to 2 years. but be careful, you should have a VERY detail log of everything from the day that it happened to now.

Get it done and see if it shows any scarring or old injury-it's worth a shot.
