Because so many Americans go to the Mexican coast on cruises & vacations that they think that's all there is to Mexico. That it must be somewhere out there in the water, lol.

Because Mexico is included in many 'Western' Caribbean cruises, and part of Mexico, does indeed, have a shoreline on the Caribbean Sea. Cozumel, by the way, IS kind of an island.

Actually, Cozumel, which is part of Mexico, is part of the Caribbean... as it is in the Caribbean Sea.

Only ONE of Mexico's states is in the Caribbean: Quintana Roo, in this state lies Cancun and Cozumel, thus Mexico is part of the Caribbean.

Becasue it is usually included in a carribean cruise. They will stop in Cozumel for example.
