It shows what people are able to do if they are committed. They believe their inner strength is symbolized by the wall. The Chinese don't see it merely as a wall but as the strength of its people personified.

People associate the Great Wall with the ancient civilization of China, and with good reason, since Chinese culture has remained steady, stretching through time as long and unbroken as the Great Wall itself.

Now, nothing. Before it was set up during the shortest dynasty, it only lasted like 2 decades I think. The only thing we know about the Great Wall is that it was used to defende themselves from someone, so it's just that, during those 2 decades it was quickly built to defend from someone. It was the shortest dynasty so no one knows. But now the great wall represents nothing. Maybe a big wall I guess.

it represents the tirany of the emperos of chine for the real poor people, even know it's a monument very exposed to the world as a chinese pride, but the chinese sociaty it's divided between these two opinions.

it is a wonder of the world it ranks alongside the pyramids, for it shows that if we,mankind put the effort into anything is possible. im not oriental but if the wall was in my country then i would be in awe of my ancestors ingenuity, and skill.

A representation of what their civilization was like thousands of years ago. To them, it meant security (like some of the posters have noted previously), however, they still got invaded.
