If both characters were to occupy the same screen, most likely the director would have us believe by the end of the film - in some sensational twist - that Logan and Tyler were the same, as well as Jack. It WOULD explain Jack's ability to survive swallowing a live round. Department H (see the Canadians) had been developing the Logan/Tyler/Jack hybrid for project Mayhem (also known as Project M).
What would bring it all together is a hybrid Sabretooth/Meatloaf with 'man boobs' wailing on our hero while singing "Heaven Can Wait" in an extended fight scene. Pure drama gold.
And thier power totem? A Sentinel in a penguin suit.
