I just found it today under my left ear, about the spot where you check for a pulserate. I read that it could be a swollen gland, but I have not been ill nor feel anything coming on. It is about quarter size and is tender to the touch. Is this a gland or something serious? I am a realitively healthy 21 year old, and had a benign breast tumor removed three years ago. Thanks!!!

My sister had a lump in just about that same spot and she had to have it removed. I suggest you see a dr asap!

Hope you are in the US cuz there is a kind of insect in other countries which burrows into your skin and lays its eggs there. They actually hatch under your flesh and can move around under there. It is really painful, epically if they get to your eye (which is possible). Another possibility is if they join to make a line which starts moving down his arm or across his chest he could have necrotizing fasciitis. It is a particularly nasty flesh eating disease usually found in hospitals. However, it can be airborne and if it got into an open wound it could certainly infect you.

Definitely get it checked out by a doctor. It could be a lymph node, but the reasons for it being swollen and tender could be several.

Probably a cyst. See your doc to decide on treatment options and to make sure it's not anything serious.

my friend has a lump like that under her armpit, she went to the doctor and they said it might be a tumor. i'd strongly suggest you go to the doctor. it might need sugery.

I would get to the doctor as soon as I could. Not to scare you, but it(the cancer) could be coming back again. For your best interest PLEASE GO TO THE DOCTOR. I also am a cancer survivor.
