Hello there! Boy, have you got me to get myself into a load of trouble: I looked at your question a while ago and was going to give you a nod when I saw that stupid cow of a first answerer - "NOPE" and that riled me to the extent that I put a question on Yahoo Products - Q&A bemoaning the fact that such people exist. I actually said that your Q started "Does anybody come from..." and now I've got some replies saying that even THAT is a daft question, simply because they don't know that a few dots at the end of a word usually mean that there's more to come (as well, of course, sometimes as sarcasm!). Anyway, I've sent a reply to that idiot in the form of a question, and the "pebbles have been dropping in the pond" (answers coming in again) ever since.
HOWEVER, as I was going to say: I wasn't born in Neasden nor do I know the village, but in the words of the old phrase, I know a man who does - in fact loads, because I used to work on the Met and B'loo lines as a guard and then driver during which time I was based there for quite a while. In later life (on the station side) I met people of all grades who lived in those little houses in the railway village. If you want more "chat" about the 'old' days, e-mail me some means of contacting you personally. Part of my long service award is a framed print of a Met steam loco, a Met 'carriage'-stock train and a Bakerloo train all passing the old power house. Happy days! Best Wishes. Eb#
