The Jews who spread over other parts of the world were never singled out for treatment. Like the Parsees from Iran who migrated to India to avoid religious persecution the Jews in India also created a niche for themselves and were assimmilated in the society there.However, in Europe even prior to the rise of Hitler the Jews did not enjoy a very honourable position in the society as is evidenced by Shakespear's Merchant of Venice. Under the pretext of depicting a usurer the Bard had showered all the abuses of the world on poor Shylock.( It was all right that Portia's argument carried the day. Had Shylock been represented with a competent lawyer he would have torn the wise Duke's decision to pieces quoting the inseparatble constittion of blood and flesh).It would have been understandable if the European Jews had been the misanthropes that the American Israels are . They had endured too much and their violent reaction could have been understood. The American Jews had no such problem .However, the American Jews are all migrants from Europe and had escaped there to avoid further ignominy at the hands of the European society. The Nobel laureate Albert Einstein is a notable example. The other Europeans who migrated to USA were similarly the successors to their ancestors who tormented the Jews. But perhaps these latter migrants always remembered the circumstances under which they were forced to migrate. Some of them were actually indentured labour and were treated no better than the black slaves in America by the landowners.Their reactions had mellowed down. However, not so of the Jew migrants. Even after all these generations the vengefulness nursed in their hearts had not subsided. On the other hand the European Jews who had continued to stay in Europe know that it meands to be at the receiving end and even if they were in no way less religious Jews than their American cousins they abhorred the idea of themselves doing something which they had suffered throughout.When all is said and done the creation of Israel was kargekt possible on account of America backing the proposal to the hilt and consequently the Jews hailing from USA have always the last word in the politics of Israel and the results you can see for yourself. The American move for supporting the creation of Israel is portrayed as the tribute of a grateful nation to a people who supported them with all the means at their command in their strggle against the axis powers. Even the development of nuclear bomb would not have been there had not Eienstein not writted to the President that is was a technically feasible proposals.There is nothing wrong if America helped Jews in realising their cherished dream of one day going back and settling in the land of their forefathers from where they were driven out by the invaders.
