birth control pills do not affect urine hCG tests but they can cause what we call "post pill amenorrhea". For someone who have taken birth control pills for long periods, the menses may not return when she decides to stop taking the pills. This may last up to even 1 year.

However i would suggest you see your doctor to confirm whether you are pregnant or not.

The pill will not effect the outcome of the pregnancy test. The pregnancy test, tests for HCG. HCG is a pregnancy hormone. Did you miss a pill? Or just start taking the pill? That will affect your period. If you still do not get your period in a couple of days re-test.

Go to the doctor and have them take a blood test. You should do that soon and don't take the pill again til you do. Some home pregnancy tests aren't all that accurate. Sometimes the pill can affect the results.

It is normal to be late, sometimes we even skip a month. It could be the pill causing that OR it could be stress.

See a doctor just to be safe. Urinary tests aren't always the most accurate, so they can run a blood test on you.

Good luck to you. ;0)

If you have recently come off the pill, your periods can take upto a year to return to normal. If you've done a test and its negative, don't worry.
If your not convinced, go and see you GP.

Get a blood test. With my first it took a blood test to confirm it and with my second my doctor told me I was imagining being pregnant the first two months (several failed urine tests) so I finally sat in his office and refused to leave until he did a blood test!! It confirmed I was pregnant and he did appologize for second guessing me.
