It's really not a trick question. Did you ever notice that up until a few years ago you couldn't buy a half loaf of bread? It was actually against the law? That is because one of the earliest food laws in the US required that a package of bread had to be an exact weight. A package of hot dog buns is considered one loaf, so they could only make as many buns as possible within the weight guideline. This is a true law that was passed in 1924, and only recently changed.

that's a very good question. actually my math teacher once asked me that. i totally loved her as a teacher of course. i really don't know y hot dogs come in packages of 10 but hot dog buns come in packages of 8. i guess they're trying to make u buy more hot dog buns which will make u buy more hot dogs.

i don't know the answer, but it sure is aggravating.....Instead of freezing the left over 2, my old man, a money waster, gives them to the darn dog.......but the fatter hot dogs come in packages of 8. so those are the ones i buy........but he has to get the 10 pack for the dog..........grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr.
