If you just got stung and your whole thigh is swelling you should be on your way to the emergency room instead of here. For future reference go to wal-mart and get a small jar of "Tiger Balm". If you have a bug bite or sting and can get this on it immediately it will neutralize the poison and within a couple hours there will be no trace of the bite. It isn't effective unless you get it on there as soon as it happens.

So many well solutions already! Since my daughter is allergic to stings, here's what I've discovered... If it was once a few days in the past, be certain the stinger is out (which it regularly IS when you consider that wasps frequently hold their stingers - they are able to sting you greater than as soon as, like a yellow jacket. Honey bees lose their stingers and those are those that frequently stay within the sufferer's epidermis) To lower the response he is having, deliver him encouraged dose of Benadryl (both liquid or tablet) - this treats TYPE a million histamines which his frame is combating off. Also deliver a million pill of ZANTAC (probably used for heartburn) - this fights TYPE two histamines. Repeat as wanted each four-6 hours, or as directed at the programs. He might want additional therapy, equivalent to a 7 day steroid percent to utterly recuperate from the allergy and his health care professional might desire to prescribe an EpiPen injector as a precaution for long run stings. Generally, if anybody develops an hypersensitive reaction it may not be too extreme the first time they're stung (even though it may be of path with respiring main issue, and so forth...) BUT the second sting may also be so much, so much worse than the first was once. This is what occurred to my daughter - stung as soon as at age four and her hand swelled like a balloon. She now consists of those two OTC medicinal drugs and an EpiPen perpetually together with her. Talk on your health care professional to investigate what's high-quality for him. I wish he heals up rapid! Stings are not any amusing! Best Wishes, Hope I might support! Lynnae

Look for a dark spot in the center of the sting. If it's there get it out. It's a stinger and keeps putting more poison in. Make a paste out of baking soda and water, put it on the sting. Cover it with a wet Cool towel. It should draw the sting out within an hour. If the swelling gets much worse you may be allergic. Go to the emergency room and they can give you a shot. If you are allergic you will need to get a kit and keep it with you.

Make a paste out of baking soda and a little water, apply to the bite. This will draw out the venom that was injected. Then apply a cold washcloth or ice pack for 20 minutes. If there is swelling in your throat or tongue ... seek medical attention immediately!

Take a potato and grate it up place it directly over the sting and wrap a cloth around it. The potato will draw out the poison and cool the sight of the sting.

Baking soda polduse is best but you can also try Meat Tenderizer. Don't know how it works but grandma used it. Pulling out the stinger is also a precursor to success.

Never tried this, but years ago people would apply chewing tobacco to the sting. It supposedly draws out the swelling and soreness. *shrugz*
