I don't know - or care if they are painful. I personally don't like the way they look.

some people think they look good. Most people find them unappealing.
I think they look stupid, but that's my opinion. You gotta do what you gotta do.
Just know you'll turn off a lot of people, which may be what you want. You might attract the people you like.

I think they are awesome and they make numbing cream that you can put on and you don't feel a thing. Although it will hurt if someone rips it out.
