Because they lack the talent to say the same things with other words They also have had pretty crappy lives so their whole reference points are things they see in da 'hood

who says people just follow their lyrics aimlessly? if that's so, then kids who listen to metal will start getting angry and hurting their enemies all time. kids who listen to emo will be down all of the time. kids who listen to classic rock will probably go insane with random words in their minds.
music is strong and should emphasize an emotion or two. you listen to it to try and understand something more, not just to enjoy it. and rap music (it's not "black") is mostly about coping with hard living standards and also just partying and having a good time, even if it's not always moral. do you never want to have sex with someone? if you have, how does this music make you any worse than you already are?

Although I relize some kids are impresonable, I don't agrew withthe fact all are. I mean, rock today has issues with suicide, murder, and drugs. But most kids who listen to it aren't stupid enough to go shoot their own mother.
Although I compleately agree that abuse and subjects such as this are absoultly nothign to juoke about (or sing about), it isn't the only problem we have.
Peopel only care because it's popular at the moment.
But EVERY genre has it, and it won't go away.
you peole need to relize it's EVERYWHERE. No matter what tou listen to. Your not going to find an easy fix by yelling at what's popular right now.

Its freedom of speech. If people dont want their kids listening to that then its THEIR job to teach their kids that they think its wrong and why they shouldnt be so impressionable. The problem isnt the kids doing bad things because of what they hear, its because their parents dont discipline them.

I still find it hard to grasp how Usher made millions of dollars singing "Yeah". I mean, I can say "Yeah, Yeah, Yeah" with some rhythm, big whoop! Being a 14 year old, I think I'll just stick to my Alanis Morissette and take rap off my agenda of music.

Black men in general have no respect for Black women. Not all of them but for the most part Black men are just are just negative thinking.Black men in America don't have any confidence. They are very selfish, rude and it's reflected in the music.Very sad.

Because its bad music. A good beat is wasted (or at least the liscensing fee) when all they do with it is spout obscenities and disrespect. Check out BlackStar, some cursing, but good stuff.

they realize that they can get attention that way. And attention helps sell records.
(I'm a kid and yes I do hear some of that stuff...most kids don't listen to the words of these songs...we just use them to dance to and at parties and stuff. And most of us don't put rap on our ipods and stuff, so it's not like we are constantly bombarding our heads with this stuff...we just listen to it when it comes on the radio and all.)

Why is it that, you don't fall off the edge of the earth and into oblivion? I really would like you to. Can you please just go away?
