Although a few paperboys still make the rounds, it's generally papermen who deliver now. And yes, they pack the newspaper in a plastic bag that sometimes protects it from the rain. They use a minvan and throw them out the open window. And just like in the old days, you still find them everywhere--lawn, under the car, in the flowers etc.

When there were paperboys, yes, some of them did throw the papers at the houses. Now though, there are no longer paperboys. Unless you have a car, the newspaper companies do not want you delivering for them. The papers are either put into paper boxes next to the mailboxes or they are thrown into the driveways or at the edge of the driveways, where ever the delivery person can get them from throwing them through the car window.

at the same time as i develop right into a paper boy, I under no circumstances merely threw the papers on the houses. I continually stopped my motorcycle, and positioned the newspapers both in a mailbox, or between the reveal door and the front door. i ought to attempt to verify if the customer had a decision. It took a touch longer, even if the purpose develop into to fulfill the customer in wish of having information. A newspaper thrown onto a the front backyard ought to be likely to get rained or snowed on, except it is in a plastic bag, which I have considered done... yet i think it is a convention used better in television shows and action pictures than in genuine existence - it is merely no longer useful. Papers ought to finally end up in the timber, by a window or land on a roof...

Yes, the papers are folded & put into a plastic bag/sleeve and people drive through the neighborhoods & toss them into the driveway. The bags usually keep them from getting too wet & as afr as it getting "nicked": who wants to be the lame one in the neighborhood to be caught stealing someone's 50 cent newspaper! SAD!!!

They used to. Both of my brothers rode their bicycles around town on their routes and threw the papers at the porches or at least in the front yards.

Every Sunday morning about 4:30 a.m., all four of us kids would be folding newspapers and putting the "coupon" inserts into the centers so that my brothers could deliver them. We all helped on Sunday mornings, because the papers were so thick. Then, after we had the route done, we all went to church.

Yes, actually they do; it's more efficient, they think. They do it out of cars or bicycles. And yes, if they don't use plastic bags, the paper gets wet; it does get nicked a lot. I had to stop getting a paper at my house because of that.

I used to throw the papers onto the verandahs. One woman wanted her paper placed on the verandah, but I refused to do it and we eventually parted company.

It's always darkest just before the dawn, so if you're going to nick your neighbour's newspaper, that's the best time to do it.
