In every single race and nationality of people, you will get some who look down on those outside there own group. I'm British and have a completely mixed group of friends of many different nationalities. I think in some places like small country villages there might still be some problems, but more because the people are unfamilia with other races than actually being racist. Sorry about your bad experience, but dont judge all by it!

Hiya, I'm sad to say that it seems that there is racism every where and in every nation -I like to think that I take a person as an individual without prejudism.. those that are racist should realize that no matter, race, colour or creed we are all the same underneath and that means there is good and bad in every race and the race of the person should have no bearing what so ever because like I said before each and everyone of us is the same underneath! So you should view it as they are the ones that have the problem and not you so please try not to let it get to you and remnember most of us white caucasion people in UK are accepting of every race and culture and it is only in the minority that are not..

No more racist than the Yanks, Aussies, Africans, Balkans, or half the rest of the world population put together, in one way or another at times!!
And if its not race, then its religion: if not religion, then its colour: If not colour, then it's Money!!
There is, and always will be something to ***** about between one race, culture, society and another... and its not just in the UK!! As tolerance: integration: & unity are no longer words to be found in the majority of world dictionaries: and if they are, their meanings are not fully understould!!
Don't beleive me...take a look around you... read the papers..watch the news!!!

Racists can be found anywhere, all walks of life . I am British and i am not racist -well that would be hard seeming my boyfriend is mixed race- , also in England I have found a lot of white people in my area ( white people are the ethnic minority and Asians the majority) being victims of racial abuse from other races.

That's a very racists attitude I am afraid, you have labelled an entire race yourself.
I am white, and English, and do not look down on anyone, I work with Indians, Pakistanis, Africans, Chinese, French etc. Many of whom I consider friends.

I think you'll find that the majority of British are not racist (No offence taken by the way). I agree there are a lot who are and you probably have bumped into a few of them if this is your general impression of us. However it would be unfair to group us all together with the bigots who gave you this impression

i don’t think its right to generalise and say just because you had one problem with a British person being racist that makes them all so.
in every society, race, culture, country there will be people who will look down on others. it isn’t a trait found in just any one society. Its being human. some people are like that and others aren’t.

Sadly a lot are but there are many more who are not. I think the amount of foreigners taking advantage of the benefits system in this country cause a lot of the racism. I dont blame the people who are using it, I blame the system.

The British National Party (fascists) are improving their standing in England.
Nowhere else has this sort of thing in Britain.
