What is your favorite Harry Potter book and why? And if you don't like Harry Potter...don't answer the question!

I personally enjoyed Order of the Phoenix the most. Even though it was annoying at times, I thought that Harry's behavior seemed more realistic than in all the other books. It was nice to see a kid who has gone through a lot act like a real person. I mean lets face it. He's an orphan, lives with people who hate him, has faced Voldemort a countless number of times, and has an godfather who has recently escaped from prison. I don't know anyone who wouldn't crack after awile.

I also liked Harry and Sirius' relationship. Before Book 5, he was my favourite character, and it was nice to learn a little it more about him; his history, and his past relationships with Harry's parents. As much as I hated to see him die in the end, I felt it was necessary in order for Harry to grow up. He needed to experience someone he cared about die. It is war, after all.

Setting aside the emotional aspects of the book, I enjoyed all of the amusing sub-plots such as Grawp, Kreacher, and Professor Umbridge.

My favourite Harry Potter book is the fourth, Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire. It's my fave because introduces new and foreings characters (specially the Durmstrang students, made me interested in the culture of Bulgaria) and it has a lot of action. Besides, the final chapters, when Harry finally faces Voldemort it's awesome: Cedric's death, Voldemort getting his body back by using Harry's blood and Tom Riddle's bones (woah!), the duel, the ghosts coming out of the bond between the wands... I loved it. The adrenaline was just running through me! I think it's the book were you can really see that the danger it's tangible, that there's a real menace that WILL hurt Harry Potter (the fact that Harry sees a fellow student being murdered and that Wormtail cut Harry's arm to draw blood... that's real, magical world or not).

My favorite Harry Potter book is Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban. I love it because that's the first time Harry gets to meet the friends of his father (and to an extent, his mother). It also shows who was really behind his parents' death and introduced two of the most popular adults in the series Remus Lupin and Sirius Black.

I like Goblet of Fire the best. I thought the characters really grew up in this one, with Ron's meltdown and Hermione sticking by Harry. Also the climax was super scary with Voldemort coming out of the cauldron. (I imagined this much more hideous than the movie). The end was sad and open to a million possibilities.

The most recent book "...Half Blood Prince".

Whereas the "Order of the Phoenix" was very well representative of Potter's age. The overall intrigue and complexity of this book was far more captivating.

i have two favorites:

Prisoner of Azkaban - this is the one where we meet Sirius and it keeps you thinking that he is a really bad guy until the very end. after you read the other books its kinda funny that we all thought that he was a bad guy at one time.

Order of the Phoenix - first book where it isnt just harry battling with everyone. it was nice to finally see other characters come out and with harry teaching them a lot of what they knew about fighting death eaters. i was really sad to see sirius gone though...i wanted to learn a lot more about him.

i like all of them for different reasons.the fourth one was the best though.because the world cup and the tournament were a lot of fun.and because Sirius had a part in it.i loved him.and because it was the most fun book so far.it had the new people from the other schools and i loved moody in it.and because the action starts from there as voldemort came back in that book.after that the fifth one was a bit of a let down as there was so much misery in that book because of the killings(poor Sirius) and umbridge.but in that book Ginny finally comes in her own.
