Because I believe that most Americans have become so apathetic you could float manure under their nose and call it roses and they would probably believe it......(which the Republicans did).
Also, The Republicans hijacked God and made everyone think that if you didn't vote their way you weren't Christian. Which---if you look at the scandals--Delay, Frist, Abramoff, Enron, Halliburton---Then you can see that most Republicans technically aren't Christians either.....

"people"
The people didn't vote for the republicans. I had a look at this subject a few weeks ago and you don't have a healthy democracy over there.
If it wasn't for the military, there is no way on earth the republicans would be in power.

http://www.washingtonmonthly.com/features/2003/0311.wallace-wells.html
chapter: Voting right
(the consensus view seems to be that the military as a whole votes Republican by a margin of slightly less than 2-to-1, with enlisted men and women Republican by 3-to-2, and Republicans outnumbering Democrats among officers by 8-to-1)
chapter: Values and weathervanes
(This country has 1.4 million active duty soldiers, and 1.2 million reserves. It also has 26.4 million veterans, nearly 13 percent of the nation's adult population.)

According to the article America has a 50/50 split... Clearly this is not reflected in the Military!!!
if 66% vote republican
66% of 13% = 8.6% of all votes
33% of 13% = 4.3% of all votes

More military personal vote than public by nearly a factor of 2 therefore
The Republicans Have a 8.3% advantage...

You are an idiot. Your corporations to people remark proves this.

I have never voted for a single republican politician, but it is clear enough that you are an idiot.

Corporations to people is a false dichotomy.

I have never run into one of these "Corporations." I have however heard of something that we call a corporation whose name derives from the term corporate which only suggests that there is a business with many different branches of operations involving many different people with various functional relevance.

A corporation and the people involved in the corporation are the same thing.

An executive in a corporation receives more money than someone on the assembly line because he brings to bear creativity, decisiveness, experience, etc. etc. etc. that the basic assembly line worker doesn't offer.

That is not to say that those things are not available to the assembly line worker, but he has not expended the energy and effort to make himself into that sort of individual who rises up through the ranks to get a better higher paying job.

The truth is that it all equalizes in the end.

The corporate executive spends way more time working for the company than the average factory worker. It is inevitable that responsibility and your investement of time and labor will increase as you move into positions of greater responsibility.

The average factory worker is in it for himself. That is, he doesn't care about becoming a big timer in the company and giving his life away to this business. He just wants to collect his pay check and go bass fishing on the weekend.

Corporations are not evil. They are fair associations of different people in different capacities all contributing to some degree or another to the production of a product that creates capital for the support of all of the individuals involved with the company.

If there is evil occuring in the company, it is not because the structure is wrong, but rather because the people operating in the structure are evil.

This is true from the least to the greatest. I have known lots of low level employees who collect paychecks from employers, supervisors, etc. who aren't worth **** because they are so lazy. I have also know owners and supervisors, who try to give their employees as little as possible because they are greedy and self aggrandizing.

You should relinquish your juvenile concepts and simplistic demarcations of structures and people and recognize that people who work hard will do well, and people who are apathetic or acquiescent will not do well.

THis is true in just about any social or economic structure.

By playing the FEAR card when ever it best suited their needs. (Notice how the color-coded alert system went away after Bush was re-elected?) Also, they play up to big, broad, moralistic issues that galvanize people vs. actual logistical issues involved in running a country. They'll play up gay marriage, gun control, and flag burning to distract people from the horrid mess in Iraq, the shaky economy, and lousy foreign relations. It's devious and sad at the same time.

Right-wingers prefer corporations because it's a mutual back-scratch. Alleviate environmental restrictions and provide tax breaks, in exchange for hefty donations and favors. Look at what Tom DeLay and Jack Abramoff got into for it. Sad again.

Basically, Bush talked a lot about moral values and how he was going to fight abortion and gay marriage. There's a lot of religious blue collar people who care about those issues. In actuality though, Bush has done nothing tangible to advance the fight against gay marriage or abortion. His Federal Marriage Amendment was a massive failure and abortion is still legal.

What he didn't tell regular Americans and what he's been working hard on is outsourcing our jobs so big companies can make lots of money. The American working man used to be able to get by but not anymore. Globalization, competition from illegal aliens -- these are all things that Bush supports.

I don't think that it's that simple. Last election, and the one before, the States were scandalized by Clinton's adventures. And tensions were mounting overseas. Clinton admin. was a break to relax and build up the economy. We all knew war was coming again. I don't think it's fair to generalize about Republicans or Democrats, because I'm a Democrat who votes for Republicans on occasion. Although, I've gotten into terrific arguments for identifying myself as a Democrat and having liberal views.

IMHO . . . 1st, because the Democrats have become so liberal that anything with a special interest flies--even against the face of reason. 2nd, investing in corporations gives people the opportunity to support themselves rather than depend on handouts.

They use fear to get the electorate to vote against their best interest by bringing up emotional issues such as abortion and gay marriages that tend to get a lot of Christian church's to get out the vote. They continually wrap them selves into the fabric of the Christian Right.

I'm sorry you don't yet understand how false this dichotomy is. It is not corporations vs. people. Corporations benefit people as people benefit corporations—this is not a zero sum game. We all benefit!

If the Democrats would run a decent candidate they would win.
