I've thought of an older honda civic maybe an accord. I want automatic. And i do want a roomy one so that i can transport snowboarding equipment bikes etc. I'm an outdoors person. And PLEASE do not tell me to ge ta SUV. Thats probably not going to be practical for a first time car. I am not willling to pay more than 6,000 for a car. I CANNOT buy a newer honda. Anything before 1998 is what i'm looking at. Out of all the Hondas (small ones) which would be better for a snowboarder/outdoors person?

A Honda Accord is great!! I had a '98 accord for my first car and it was excellent. Low maitenance and very roomy for every single one of my friends. so it should be good for you equip. Plus the back seat lets down so that if you have something extra long in the trunk it can come into the backseat also.

I've been keeping exellent care of my families mini van... it's an Isuzu Oasis which, back in 1996, was produced at the same time, from the same factory, with the same parts as the 1996 Honda Odyssey. All the parts are Honda as is the service manual. This mini-van seats 7 people, comes with an accessory snow ski rack, looks pretty darn good for its mileage (250,000) has a great interior that's been kept fully stock with the exception of adding a 10 disk CD changer.

I've just completed another 90,000 mile servicing that included the following items:

spark plugs
spark plug seals
valve cover gasket
valve cover washers
timing belt
alternator belt
AC belt
AC Servicing (leak check and top off to full charge)

Tires have plenty of tread left on them and the engine starts right up. It runs great and should run like new for the next 100,000 miles. I put a hitch on it that was supposed to be used to tow a 19" ski boat just a half mile down the street to a boat ramp but the boat needed work and got towed only four times. The hitch will go with the van though so it can two things like wave runners or a trailer or something. Camping would be great in this van! It is automatic, silver in color, cloth seats and clean, clean, clean!

Not long ago I replaced the ball joints and the McPhearson struts. It will have new front brakes not long from now too.

Kelly Blue Book lists it for $3700. My wife says I keep the cars in such good shape she has no hope of ending her mini van era and getting another car... I would like to prove her wrong. The car is still in service in Granbury TX. Make me an offer and it's yours! Hey... maybe it will bring you good luck... it has hauled Olympian Dana Vollmer back and forth to swim practice countless times! www.danavollmer.com

Well...Honda Accord's are the only one's I drive...I've had a 1994,1990,1989....I think you'd be better off going with an Accord for the simple fact of their very durable cars...I've never had a civic and I don't want one....The 1994 Honda Accords are very good...I loved mine...I think you will too...

We just bought a 97 Honda Accord for my daughter. We paid $4100.00 . It runs very good and looks great. We have owned accords in the past and they are very dependable. Dont buy older american cars because thier not as vell made even if you find them cheaper. Good luck

hummm. as a Honda owner i would go with a 90-2000 Accord. In my option that was the best years for Honda.

Civic. Very reliable. My mother has a 1987 Honda Civic--stickshift. Still runs, and if she would put more money into it, it'd be running wonderfully--which is more than I can say for it's present condition.

Your on the right trail, but I think personally that the accord is probably going to give you more room, and at least the same reliability in service and fuel economy.

My son-in-law has a '94 accord and it runs extremely well. It has done over 250000km. I am very pleased with it and would buy it if he was selling.
Hope this helps.
