A person has his own coach&. Whenever he goes to railway station he takes his coach. One day he was supposed to reach the railway station at 5 O'clock. But he finished his work early and reached at 3 O'clock. Then he rung up his residence and asked to send the coach immediately. He came to know that the coach has left just now to the railway station. He thought that the coach has left just now to the railway station. He thought that he should not waste his time and started moving towards his residence at the speed of 3 miles/hr. On the way, he gets the coach and reaches home at 6 o'clock. How far is his residence from railway station

Sorry for my poor English:
18 miles.
Normally it takes 4 hours for the coach to get from the residence to the station and back. No it took only three hours (as the coach left at 3 and returned at 6). This means that the person and the coach met each other after 1 and a half hour. In that time the person walked 4 and a half miles. Normally it takes 2 hours for the coach to get from the residence to the station. So in 1 and a half hour, it rides 3/4 of the distance. This means that the person has walked 1/4 of the distance. 4*4.5 = 18 miles.

9 miles

Explanation: Seems to me it includes a lot of unnecessary information that has nothing to do with getting to the answer. Basically, theres a residence and a railway station. He gets from residence to railway in 3 hours since he started traveling at 3:00 and arrived at 6:00. The couch he took was traveling at 3miles an hour. So through logic, you can determine that the distance between residence and railway is 9 miles.

Whenever he goes to railway station he takes his coach.

He should not have had this problem if he takes his coach whenever he goes to the railway station.

technically 9miles b/c he was going 3mph and it took 3 hours...3x3=9. but he shouldnt have had this whole issue because you said "whenever he goes to the railway station he takes his coach"
