Peter Cook was the comic - although I'm not too sure about this 'genius' business, but that's your opinion(s). Dudley Moore overcame his club foot, studied piano and became a full-blown concert pianist in his own right but never pushed it, but he was also well known for his modern jazz piano playing. He must have been very, very drunk the day he agreed to do those Derek and Clive LPs 'though.

Dudley Moore was a music scholar and Peter Cook was a natural born comic genius who took to drink. They are both dead.

I used to love watching those two on Bernard Bradens beat whi was probably before most people on here`s time.Sitting on a bench they used to make me laugh. Dudley moore had a good nack of keeping a straight face although sometimes it slipped a bit when he burst out laughing. But my favourite was Peter Cook

Different people entirely.Peter Cook was the essential caustic British comedian.....the comedians comedian,a genius, and my personal favourite.Dudley(after who my cat is named) is the perfect sidekick for Peter cook, that's why they were so good.Dudley had mass appeal,Peter was more cerebral.
I miss both of them very much and just feel lucky that they were around in the first place.
