An article in today's paper stated that pollution caused by Red China's industrialization was finally making it's way to North America. Not mentioned was the fact that because of Wal-Mart and other Big Box retailers relying on cheap products from China and America's consumer driven culture, we are now paying for those cheap imported goods from China and the price appears to be quite high.

The broken levee that risks the lives of 20,000 in China is interesting enough for me. Why? Because of that fact that it has been undercovered in the news and the entire flood that's going on seems to be thrown aside as something that almost doesn't matter.

We haev a local policeman who is being held in our jail. He was caught lurking around a lady's house at midnight and tried to say he was looking at real estate. She later id'ed him as the guy who has been stalking her for months, and after the paper showed his picture, a whole string of women came forward and said he raped them, and gave info about them during the rapes that was private info and they couldn;t figure out how their rapist knew. Well, it was all police info that he had acces to in dealing with their cases. He let some time go by, then go rape them...allegedly.

There was a story on the local news last night about a ten year old girl who lost her left arm to save her two year old brother in a car accident. They asked the little girl why she was so brave and her reply was, "I am ten years old, and he is only two. It wouldn't be fair if I lived for ten years and he only got to live for two. But if I died and he got to live to at least ten, then it would kind of be fair."

What a little girl!!!

Andrea Yates verdict. One of the few times I can remember when people who normally feel "one" way about criminal justice often find themselves going the "other" way. It's a strange case, and it gets stranger the more you study the background.
