i'm going with my parents. my sis, who always keeps me entertained no matter what, is staying home because she has to work. but my mom is bringing her laptop so we can listen to CDs and watch DVDs. but i was wondering if anyone could either suggest or show me web sites that could suggest other things to do to stave off boredom.

Thanks

~Amy~

P.S. we are going from Denton/Dallas to San Antonio. just in case you wanted to know. :)

Wow, we are so reliant on digital entertainment these days.. goodness...

When I used to take solo car trips the radio alone was entertainment enough.... so a walkman/ipod device could work... My wife always sleeps go figure she doesn't do the driving....

When I was younger and we went on road trips we played car games.. these are great fun... Count the out of state license plates.. Alphabet sign game.. I spy (must be in the car).. They used to make sign bingo cards, now you can print or make your own.. http://www.metrokc.gov/kcdot/roads/traffic/bingo/index.cfm Or you could mix it up and change the bingo spaces to any common signs...(fast food, hotel chains, types of cars, etc..)

Look for amusing road signs and make pit stops at funny places, such as South of the Border. Not that that is on that route. Signspotting by Lonely Planet is a great book for entertainment, as well as Wicked Irish by Howard Tomb. Learn a new language. Spanish is good if you don't know it yet. I speak French, though don't often confess to that because of political tensions presently. German and Italian are useful too. Latin's not bad for vocabulary. Yes, I'm a geek.

It's not that bad of a trip. It's highway all the way and should go by fast. I live in Dallas and have been to SA many times. Stop in Georgetown at the caverns, then in Austin under the Congress Ave bridge, watch the bats come out.

Theres this game called the alphabet game. Using only signs and liscense plates, you see who can spot all the letters in the alphabet first! It's really childish but it's good to pass 1/2 an hour quickly.

We travel from FL to NY by car often and we play the license plate game...I know u r going to still be within Texas...but see how many license plates u find from other states and write them down until u reach your destination. We've gotten as many as 30 states traveling back n' forth once.

You aren't going to be able to enjoy any movie you pick because someone else will always complain about it...so just bring a book you can enjoy. It doesn't offend anyone.

Yahoo! Games has a lot of games you can download and play offline. Rent some movies from NetFlix.
