The Mets traded Scott Kazmir to Tampa Bay for Victor Zambrano. That was pretty bad.

The worst trade in recent history has to be Pierzynski for Nathan, Liriano and Bonser.

That worked out pretty well for the Twins. And the White Sox too, I might add. AJ might have been a cancer in SF, but he's been a godsend here on the South Side. :)

All the Cubs fans are complaining about Brock for Broglio. Didn't you guys get Ryne Sandberg for Ivan DeJesus? That didn't work out too badly, huh?

It wasn't a trade but the Red Sox sold Babe Ruth to the Yankees for $100,000 and are still paying for it even today.

Another terrible trade was when the Cardinals traded Steve Carlton for the Phillie's Rick Wise straight up. This has to be one of the top 5 worse trades of all time.

At the end of 1971, the NY Mets traded a pitcher they thought was going nowhere for an infielder who never amounted to anything. The Pitcher's name was Nolan Ryan. Then, in 1977, the Mets traded Tom Seaver for a few nobody players. Tom continued to pitch great for several years and the Mets were not a contender for 7-8 years after that.

Funny you should ask that; sportscenter had a countdown of that on yesterday's episode; i only saw the last 1; it was sending lou brock to the cards for 3 no-name pitchers in july. That season, brock led the cards to a 51-17 record down the stretch to win the division by 1 game, en route to a world series win the same season.
