a sinkhole in the street opened up and my car left side fell into it what type of lawyer do i need for this?i have pics and a police report to prove what happened.

You need a lawyer with experience asserting property damage claims against governmental entities. There are usually prelawsuit claims procedures you must follow and the statute of limitations is sometime shorter than if you were making a claim against a private citizen.

Not sure what TYPE of lawyer, but you want to sue the city for NOT MAINTAINING that section of street. Talk to your lawyer about CRIMINAL NEGLIGENCE on the city's part. That should get the ball rolling.

the better question is will your car insurance cover the damages?
it's not flood damage, and should be covered under general road hazards or act of god.
