Howcome liberals hate Fox news while CNN and all other news networks are left-leaning? They complain so much about its biasness and ignore the liberal bias in major newspapers and networks.

I don't want america to have a one-sided media. I want americans to have a choice between conservative and liberal news networks. Fox news is needed.

Lecrapface, tell me what kind of inaccurate statements Fox news is making.
Jon Stewart and Colbert are parody shows. the only thing is that I grown to hate them since they are always preaching on the left's side instead of doing their job, which is making fun of the news and being comedians.

Wow. If you think Fox is news, you have bigger problems to worry about. Fox is merely the op-ed page in television format. O'Reilly has said this himself. The other channels are not. At least, they weren't when they started. Now, they may becoming more and more like Fox (read: one-sided) because many people can't tell the difference anyway. Remember when both right and left praised CNN for its coverage of the first Gulf War?
Because the nation is so polarized these days, neither wing makes any concessions, even when the media organization they favor is doing a disservice. That's great news for politicians, bad news for the people. We give up too much when the most popular "news" channel in the country is simply the megaphone of the White House. (I would say the same if the current government leaned left and had CNN as its megaphone.)
Lastly, in terms of you hating Stewart and Colbert because they make fun of your administration, you unfortunately misunderstand their intent. They make fun of both sides, it just so happens that the administration in power now -- your preferred right-wing -- does more ridiculous things than the party without power. If Democrats were in power, they would take as many swings, because Democrats would surely make as many ridiculous claims to push their agenda. They make fun of the system: the media, the government, the corruption -- and people who don't do what's best for the country. (Think: Stewart roasting both leftist Paul Begala and right leaning Tucker Carlson.)

Facts are facts. The opinion that some dumbass uses to put a spin on the facts and make themselves look like a big time media hero are just opinions.
How about we just get the facts and **** all the political bullshit. I've had it with the war between repubs and dems and libs and neo cons. **** all of you political heart achers. If it isn't affecting you then shut the hell up.
Why do I hate Fox News? I hate Fox News because their news is full of opinions, lies and incorrect statements. Why do I hate all other news shows? For the same damned reasons. Why do I love the Daily Show and Colbert Report? Because they rip all other media shows a new one!!! Open a can ya political pussy and get some!!!!
Watch the Daily Show and The Colbert Report. They make fun of all the times the 'real news shows' have ****** up. You just can't handle the truth that you're being lied to. It's ok. It's sad and so are you.

All other news networks are left leaning? Think about what you're saying. Of course, you can't, because of the fuzzy right-wing mentality you have. Most news organizations are right in the center. Right-wingers believe that if they aren't leaning right, then they must be liberally bent, since they only see thing as one way or the other. There is no in-between.
Why do Libs hate Fox News? Oh, could it be that they lie, make up stories, don't cover stories that show Bush in a negative light, have obnoxious, lying people working for them like Hannity, O'Reilly, Brit Hume, etc.? Fair and Balance, my a$$!
(Have you notice how the Cons love to use the word "hate"? It shows up in every post they make.)

Well, when i determine whether or not someone exhibits a "bias", i do so by determining whether they are biased compared with "reality", not whether they're biased when compared with other people's opinions.
I personally DO want a "one-sided news media": I want a news media that only reports facts and reality; i want them to report the events that occur and how they occur. I don't want opinions, and i don't want "news analysis" (which is actually just opinions in disguise).
Fox news distorts reality. The things they report and discuss about events, and the facts about how those events actually happen in reality, are two very different things.
And here's an interesting fact: fox news viewers are actually significantly more misinformed about the Iraq war in particular than the viewers of any other news related program.
Here's an article mentioning that:
http://mediamatters.org/items/200605250003
And here's the study itself:
http://65.109.167.118/pipa/pdf/oct03/IraqMedia_Oct03_rpt.pdf
Interesting side note: That first article also discusses the study that reveals that Daily Show viewers are actually better informed and more well educated than the viewers of any other show. They're even better informed than the readers of newspapers. This isn't BECAUSE of the daily show, of course - it's comedy. It's just because that's the sort of person who watches it.
If reality itself has a liberal bias (and how it's possible for reality to be biased is beyond me), then i suppose CNN does too. But I don't really care; I intend on going with reality regardless of what you call it.
I personally try to avoid television news altogether; no matter which one you watch, television news always seems difficult to take seriously. It's intellectually lacking.
Fox news, in particular, bothers me though, for the aforementioned reasons.

Because the "other" news networks are not nearly as left as Fox is right. And since my husband works at one of those "other" networks and is "independent, leaning more towards the left" I find it funny that he finds his own network to lean slightly right.
While I particularly despise Fox because it is a blatant mouthpiece for the Republican party (watch the document "OutFOXed") , I am more concerned about the media as a whole. We don't have that proper sense of journalism out there anymore. The networks are too busy trying to entertain us, rather than inform us these days. I find myself having to listen to Air America and watch FOX news so that the two extreme points of view can help me make an educated decision as to what's really going on. And who has time to research their own news all the time? HA! And that's just it. That's why FOX is so successful.

I am from the UK. I watched Fox News and after 10 mintues I was throwing my shoes at the screen. After watching the BBC most of my life it was quite hard to stomach this. Every 'newsreader' had an opinion or bias that they didn't mind sharing with everyone. Where I come from, newsreaders and journalists state the facts and allow you to make up your own mind! I saw news reports that would make you laugh!
On CNN I was watching a gigantic effigy of George Bush being pulled down by a crowd of jeering Londoners during his visit to the UK.
On Fox News they were boasting about the president's popularity and how well received his visit was.
The newsreader then started talking about the Middle East and then went on to say that for all the religions and cultures they have, "they do not have the blessing of Jesus Christ our Lord. "
And this is a news program!???
Then, the next report featured a journalist reporting from Iraq. He was standing in what looked like a tool shed. He was picking up pots of paint and pointing at the hazard warnings on them trying to make the bizzare assertion that this was a chemical weapons storage facility. I had to turn off at that point.
It was at then that I realised why America is as it is.

I don't hate Fox News. I find them amusing. Bigots and bimbos.
What I find incredible is that they have a 'plausible' excuse for everything Bush does, and THAT is a load of bull.
I especially like watching Hannity and Big Bill taking themselves oh so seriously. I especially enjoy Big Bad Bill OPINING instead of LISTENING.
And that panel with the 3 stooges lookalikes, they repeat what the other has said for hours.
And Shep, fighting the good fight in Israel, look ma, I am so brave!
At least they stopped showing us the same 'world weather' with the same silly music for hours on end.
Can anybody tell me why my dog starts howling when she sees Cavuto? I suppose it's something dogs sense.
Other than these observations, Fox News is okay.
Wait, wait, Jane Skinner (Skinny) can visit me anytime. But she mustn't bring Greta with her. That voice would do serious damage to my hearing.

I really have no idea why so many liberals hate Fox News. After all, Fox News is the only network that REALLY gives two sides to every story. You know, the president's side and the vice-president's.

After 20 years of CNN, FOX was needed. I don't know why "liberals" complain about it - probably for the same reasons that "conservatives" complained about CNN.
A few people mentioned BBC here. I have watched BBC, and it is no less full of BS than American news. The reporters just take a somber tone, and people mistake that for objectivity.
Next time you watch BBC news, after every phrase that is uttered by a reporter in any news report, say out loud in a pretentious Brit accent, "And this is the result of white male hegemony." 99% of the time, it totally fits...

Hey flash liberals hate the truth. You see the damnocrats are puppets controlled by Dean, Moore, Clinton and the likes. Since people like this have never and will never tell truths their followers believe the lies to be true. Thus when FOX news tells the truth it scares the hell out of them then they go around crying and blaming the Republicans for everything that goes wrong.
