Hello. -
"The green color in grass-and in most other plants-comes from chloroplast within the cells, each of which contains four different colors or pigments. These are: chlorophyll a, which is the strongest and is blue-green; chlorophyll b, which is yellow-green; xantophyll, which is yellow; and carotene, which is orange and gives carrots their bright color.
Grass goes from light green in early spring to dark green and brown in summer and autumn because the amount of each pigment changes, like the paint on a palette, to mix new colors".
Have a nice evening. :)

Because the chlorophyll in a plants cells absorbs all light frequencies apart from the frequency that we interpret as green and this frequency bounces back off the grass and hits our eyes which allows us to interpret the grass as being green.

Colors are caused by different wavelengths of light. White light is essentially every color, in the sense that it contains all wavelengths. Certain pigments absorb different wavelengths of light. The pigments in plants, which consists of many types of chlorophyll, absorb red light the best and green light the worst. So the wavelengths that create green are reflected back, making grass appear green.
