Yes, if you get the finger and yourself to the hospital quickly enough. Wrap the severed finger in a clean, damp cloth and put it in a sealed plastic bag. Immerse the bag in cold water (or ice water), but do not directly immerse the finger in water OR put it directly on ice (this will damage the tissue). If you have the finger preserved like this, you have about 12-18 hours before it will no longer be viable. If you don't, you only have more like 4-6 hours.

Yes. As long as it is not all mangled and smashed. Here is what you have to do. Put the finger in an empty bag and put THAT bag into a bag of ice. DO NOT put the finger in the ice, just the bag with the finger in it. If you put the finger into the ice, you will contaminate it with all sorts of bacteria which are not present in an empty plastic ziplock bag.

It is possible, if the amputate appendage is in good shape and the surgery starts very soon after the amputation.

In other words if this is a real situation you are talking about, call 911 now and tell them what you did.

Not on ice, put in clean plastic bag in cold water...Ice will freeze and kill the tissue.

are you seriously sitting there, typing out this question without a pinky? must have been hard to do those question marks! you need to get to the hospital asap to get that finger back on, and while you're there you might wana have them check out your head.

I suppose you could. I don't know how effective it would be. It might twitch around and spasm when you least expect it. It's your finger man. I wouldn't do it if it were mine, but if it is already done you're asking the wrong people.
