It is a rather obscure movie, but I love it. It is from Iran (Persia)
The title is Children from Heaven and it is about a little boy who loses his sisters shoes and has to resolve the problem without telling their parents. it is a simple story, the children act in a natural way and it surprises me that this little jewel comes from a country with so much censorship.

Temptress Moon - with Gong Li. It was so freaky that it was actually banned in China (it was about opium smokers). Basically, any movie with Gong Li in it is pretty good. Raise the Red Lantern, Ju Dou, Farewell my Concubine, Memoirs of a Geisha, etc.
