In most political science courses 101 the fourth estate has always been the free press.

why?

because the executive, legislative and judicial
were designed as a way to keep a check and balance on power.

each branch was to limt or control the amount of power the other had.

the press functions as a balance and check as well.

as they report on the actions of government they are alert the voters and the people who then have the ulimate power of the vote.

the most serious problem has bloomed in the last 6 years where

Republicans control the executive, legilative, and judicial.
with little to no checks and balances.

the press has been effectively been sidlined their role diminished and

the conspiracy of the liberal bias has been effective in destroying the fourth estate.

if the fourth estate doesn't do its job only the people of our great country will suffer.

Hi Lioness, I tried to find "objectified" and "objectification" in the dictionary and no joy. Well, I'm not exactly sure I understand your queston, but think I might have an idea. Anyway, have you ever heard of the "bell curve"? It's a curve that is shaped like a bell and does a good job of representing statistics. As for beauty, at one end of the curve we have the least attractive and at the other end the most. The same would be true for income ... poorest on one side and richest on the other. In the middle of the bell we have all the average folks. I think what you're saying is true, but just simply a fact of life. We have the full spectrum for both genders. As for why guys don't protest ... I guess they realize that it's just the way things are and protests are unlikely to change anything. Hope this helps!

Like the government, the media runs off at the mouth and reports just what it wants too without checking everything out first.
I media like the government doesn't care at all who gets hurt just so it can say and do what it wants.
The media like the government misused the Constitution for it's own benefit, like "Freedom of Speech" for example.
The media like the government has no conscience what so ever and they will and have destroyed many innocent lives along the way too.
