Because you need something to cling to psychologically. You probably started to "fit in" or "be cool" as the sayings go......but you don't need one. Your lung want for air after any physical activity...and when you smoke your lungs crave air but the craving is mistaken for a cigarette.

Actually I don't think its anything to do with the sex - its because whatever time sex took, you won't have had a cigarette for this length of time....
