It's the weirdest thing... The most popular kids didn't turn out so well, and the unpopular ones are really super-successful.

I graduated from high school about ten years ago, and I've only recently moved back to my home town in New York City. Now when I go to Starbucks, I am served by my former tenth grade gym partner (who by the way, used to torture me endlessly in school). There are also about a dozen of them dressed in red, working at Staples. While working out at the gym one morning, some guy came up to me and told me that he had been the homecoming king one year for our high school - he was a personal trainer soliciting for business. The once-popular kids now pump my gas, serve my breakfast, wash my car, and check my groceries. It's very surreal.

The popular people ( some) were so concerned with buying brand name clothes and shoes in high school that they didn't learn enough to graduate, now they work at fast food stores, and don't own their own home, and pay a ridiculous rent on an apartment, or live in the projects and the other ones are still popular in their own circles of friends and successful...

The unpopular ones(some) have 4 and 5 kids cause they were still lookin for "love in all the wrong places" and the rest have homes, and successful jobs cause they graduated with a 4.0 average and actually learned something

I fell in the middle, I was neither popular or unpopular...I'm married with 3 daughters, a wonderful husband, a home we own, and my own daycare bizness...which shows that anything can happen to anyone

The unpopular kids became successful. The popular kids became unsuccessful. On the other hand many popular kids became successful and many unpopular kids became unsuccessful. Let's hope everyone changed. Life changes everyone. Maybe not intrinsically, but by enlarging our frame of reference (learning). And, yes, some have "passed away." Were you hoping all the popular people turned out to be duds. A common misconception. Well integrated people will be successful whether they were popular in school or not.

Most of the people I knew in school are still in our sad litte home town, raising another generation of kids who will be stuck there and repeat the cycle of having babies, becoming alcholics or wife-beaters, or abused wives or cheaters, or married women who become lesbians. Some of the people in my graduating class are already actually grandparents, I find that so disturbing.

it depends on your tak on popularity...do you mean "football stars and cheerleaders"? i took a look back at many in my class after a reuion and many of them peaked in high school, and they weren't much different than they were oh-so many years ago... honestly, "Romy & Michelle's High School Reuinion" isn't too far fetched!
