Any ideas for old fashioned weddings? I'm just curious (not marrying soon as far as i know). I just love old fashioned style, weddings included.

Find an old, very small church for the wedding.... preferably out in the country somewhere....nestled in the woods.......
Wear a high-necked gown.
Wear some simple pearl earrings and necklace.
Wear your hair swept up in a french twist or bun with a few corkscrew locks of hair framing your face....adorn hair with sprigs of babysbreath flowers.
Wear just a touch of makeup to highlight your natural beauty.
Perhaps you can borrow a blue cameo broach.
Have the groom and the groomsmen wear long coat tails and top hats.
Carry a simple bouquet of flowers..... preferably wildflowers
Have old, turn-of-the century wedding music.... old hymns.
Incorporate lots of lace and pink roses in your decorations.
Perhaps a small group of live musicians.... violins, cellos, etc.
Hire a carriage to drive you to & from the church.
Have the reception outside.... in a casual atmosphere. It could even be covered dish..... like it's been done for hundreds of years.

Your marriage should be about committing to each other for the rest of your lives. It should be relaxed and enjoyable.... not a performance. Marriage should be about how much you love each other... not about how much money you spent on a wedding. Save the extra money for the honeymoon.... for the two of you. Afterall..... it's about YOU two, not about impressing the rest of us!
