In 1971, Canada was the first country in the world to adopt multiculturalism as an official policy. By so doing, Canada affirmed the value and dignity of all Canadian citizens regardless of their racial or ethnic origins, their language, or their religious affiliation. The 1971 Multiculturalism Policy of Canada also confirmed the rights of Aboriginal peoples and the status of Canada's two official languages.
First & Foremost I'm a Canadian althogh my parents were immigrants. Most of the kids I went to school with were 1st generation Canadians.
I love English foods & drive 20 miles to get Eccles Cakes at a bakery. Love the English chocolates.
Also got introduced to a real Italian Spagetti Dinner, Curries from my Indian Friends Chinese food that isn't served in the standard Chinese restaurant. Oooh don't even start on Vietnamese cuisine or Greek baklava mm drool.
Everyone has such cool traditions.
Glad I'm not 300lbs with trying everones tasty ethnic cuisine. One thing we all agree on. We're proud to be Canadians

U.SA. and forget it. UNFORTUNATELY, some people are stuck in their upbrining and generational RACISM prevails. Sad, but true. Thank God, not all are like that!!
