Legalize and regulate.
The black market has a way of making things 'dirty'. If it were legalized, when a John didn't pay, he could be found guilty of theft of service instead of a pimp coming over to kill him. If it were legalized, you could regulate testing of the workers and control the spread of disease. If it were legalized, you could tax it with the tax revenues earmarked to pay for code enforcement agents.
Whether or not something is a sin should have zero bearing as to whether or not something is legal or illegal. The only thing that needs to be done is ask the question: Are we better off with a legal form of prostitution where it can be controled and legislated, or are we better off with the current system? We are unquestionablly better off when systems are legalized and regulated by authorities as opposed to allowing black markets to take control.

yes without a doubt.
The craziest thing about this issue is that porno are legal. I guess prostitution is legal is you video tape it and pay yourself some money; thus making a porno.
I mean come on; where is the line between porno and prostitution. Porno actresses get paid to have sex same as prostitutes.
It is a persons choise to hire a prostitute, just as it is the prostitutes choice to be a prostitute. What makes it illegal? It doesn't harm anybody who didn't make the choice.
If you say because it will spred diseases that will kill many people. Then you have to illegalize drinking and smoking. Both of them have high rates of death. I believe they are like 1 and 3 the biggest causes of death in the U.S. I mean smoking or drinking kills more people then most diseases combined (including all of the sexually transmitted deseases.)
Now you'll say it will cause a lot more crime. Again you are extremely wrong. In countries were prostitution is legal they have less crimes in all categories. However this is irrelavant to my main point on this. With legalized prostitution we can actually monitor it. In other words, most of the people who are slaves in the U.S. prostitution rings would no longer have jobs. Prostitution would be monitored. This would also illiminate a few underground crime syndacites. Losing a huge part of there income would destroy them.
Since A and B is viod try to find a C. so that I can discredit C too.
There is no real reason why it is illegal.

Philosophically speaking, you don't own your body. If you did own it, then you should also be allowed to treat it like you would with any piece of property, such as selling it or destroying it. Prostitution is a way of selling your body. Suicide is a way of destroying your body. If prostitution is legalized, then committing suicide should also be permitted by our society, but it clearly isn't because those whose suicide attempts have failed have ended up in mental institutions. This is only a logical approach to your question and this is the way that the government thinks (believe me, I've studied political science and philosophy for quite a while).
My true opinion is that there will always be people who will want to become prostitutes (usually out of need or desperation) and we know that our government is not efficient enough to provide for all needy people. Many prostitutes in the US have been murdered or unpaid by their "clients", and those prostitutes also suffer from bad health due to the fact that they get no medical benefits since this job is done in a clandestine way. In the Netherlands, however, since prostitution is legal, there are organizations that keep track of where the prostiutes are staying in, as well as when they should return. The police cooperates with these organizations and since this business is doing great there, some of those prostitutes can get medical benefits! Perhaps legalizing prostitution should be the way to go!

No, its a sin and if it were legal it may tempt more people to sin than may have otherwise.
