AIM is AOL Instant Messenger.
If they give you a free email address take it. Don't pay for an account with them. It SUCKS.
You can use the email address whenever different sites on the Internet ask for your email address that way all the spam will go to that account and not the one you use regularly. You also don't want to talk to AOL on the telephone. They will hound you and hound you to get a paid account and if you don't they won't help.

AIM mail is on a different server and your email address is yourscreenname@aim.com instead of aol.com. You pretty much never need to use it but I'm not sure you can get rid of it. You may be talking about a free trial of AOL which if you do not want you just just exit out and uninstall if it downloaded something to your computer.

If you have an aim sn and you use that mail and you got aim before then at the end of you email it would be @aim.com. But if you had an aol account-email address then you would use the name of that and use it as your sn and then you would have 2 email addresses. One with @aol.com and one with @aim.com. so no

only if you accpet the 90 day trial then it gives you AOL privliges for 90 days--free.if you dont then you are fine....and AIM mail is 100% free. and besides the trial doesnt cost you any money either.
