I saw the musical last summer, and i saw that it was on tv today (abc family) so i turned it on and watched it for about 2 hours and nobody was singing. There would be background music, but there wasn't really any singing and very little dancing. Is it suppose to be a musical, or just like movie turned into musical?

the musical you saw was the whole movie translated into song and dance...the real movie isnt like that

It wasnt a musical when the movie was made. Just dealt with a lot of teen problems and how some of it was dealt with.
However, the production made for the stage was an upbeat to the movie.
I liked the movie better. It was more intense.

Footloose is a musical??? I've only seen the movie, which I loved when I was a teenager. (It came out when I was 14). They definately don't sing.
