it depends on the brand. If you have an apple they will last 3-4 hrs. Most IBM's last about 2 hrs. It just depends. I would look up your model on the net and see the estimated time. It is usually 1 hr. less than the manufacture claims. I hope this helps.

All the answers are correct. However as a battery ages, they can go bad, and the time slowly drops. My 2.7 year old Dell battery has gone bad, and it can't last more than 5 minutes tops. I don't want to spend the money, so I use it mostly as plug-in like a desktop. I had an old Compaq, but it failed totally so it only runs zero seconds.

depends on the laptop and battery. My laptop carries about 2.5 hours a power in one charge.
It also depeds on what hardware you're using. If you're using a DVD drive, it'll die faster.

it depends on what kind of laptop but now they are selling batteries that you attatch to the laptop and it looks like a grip and it gives it more battery life
