I wasn't thinking when I planted my peppers and I mixed up my de arbol pepper seeds with my banana pepper seeds. I was just pickling the first batch of banana peppers when my fingertips(hangnails) started burning and I couldn't hardly breathe......it was a de arbol. HOW CAN I TELL THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN THE TWO PLANTS?????

When you plant them together they cross pollinate. The mild peppers will be hot and the hot peppers will be milder.

Jalepeno's have an overly bulbous form, are a darker coloration of inexperienced and are extra rounded on the tip (than say a cayenne). Whereas serrano's have a tendency to be thinner, a extra medium coloration of inexperienced and taper at finish to a factor just like cayenne does.
