Hard lenses.
1.) Make sure lenses are clean, and have been soaked overnight.
2.) Wash hands well, but do not dry. Take right lens from case, balance on tip of middle RH finger, with the bowl of the lens facing up. Drop some wetting solution into the bowl of the lens til it is full.
3.) Move towards mirror, bringing your left hand up above your right eye, and putting the tips of your fingers just below your eyebrow, pull the skin upwards gently. At the same time, move your right hand towards your right eye, still balancing the lens carefully.
4.) Now with your fourth finger pull the bottom eyelid down. Then very carefully place the lens on the white of the eye directly beneath, but not touching, the edge of the iris.
5.) Use the middle finger of your right hand now to very gently push the lens up using the inside of the lower eyelid, onto the cornea.
6..) Blink a few times, get a piece of tissue and wipe any fluid off your eyelids.
7.) Allow your eye to settle before repeating the process with the left eye.
Soft lenses - All the same proceedure, but when it comes to putting the lens on your eye, you have to place it directly on the cornea/iris. This takes a lot of practice, but is less irritating than with hard lenses.

well first of all wash your hands, thats very important! then, put some eye drops in your eye to make them wet, you might also want to try to clean the lenses if u have trouble putting them in, because the wetness will make it easier for them to stick. if your a rightie, put the contact on your index finger, and hold the bottom eyelid down with the middle finger, and with your left hand hold the top eyelid up, but make sure u grab your eyelashes as u do that, if not then they might get in the way, and if your a leftie, then do everything opposite. look up and place the contact on your eye and when it sticks, try not to blink right away! most of the time blinking right away will make the contact slide back out, so keep holding your eyes open, and look around until u feel like the contact is stuck on your eye. then close your eyes and gently press your eyelid to make it stick better. once u open your eyes, if u still feel a slight discomfort from the contacts, put in a couple more eyesdrops. try this and be patient! good luck...oh and there are also cases when u have to get a specific size contact for your eyes, because the standard size doesnt fit u, but that isn't too common but if that your case, your eye doctor should measure your eye to see...

i have very little openings in my eyes to put in contact lenses but there is a trick i have to putting them in. Here how i do, to put in your left contact lens. Balance the left contact lens on your middle finger of your left hand. Next put your right arm behind your head and get your right hand in front of your left eye and spread out your fingers and using the two fingers by your thumb hold your eye wide open making it difficult for you to blink and insert contact lens. (Make sure beforehand you put down a towel and stand on it so that if it drops its easily found). Then do this exactly the same with the right one but insert the lens with the right hand. I wish you all the best it may take a bit of rehearsing but just keep practising without using the contact lens. I love wearing contacts and its been proven that your eyesight doesnt worsen as quickly as it does with wearing glasses. For the past 7 years my prescription has not changed and my eyesight is bad.

i use contact lenses, so dont panic, its possible.
1. place the contact lens on the top of your right index finger so that half of it's on the finger and half of it's not.
2. put your left hand's index and middle fingers together and use them to pull the top eyelid up
3. put your right middle finger under your eye and pull your eyelid down. that way your eye is wide open.
4. move your finger towards your eye until the contact lens gets on your eye.
if it wont go on your eye then try putting soem liquid on the contact lense so that it'll stick better and easier. i reccomend Thera Tears.
dont worry, that's happened to me before too. it just takes practice and help.
good luck!

I had the same problem when I first got contacts. Make sure the contact is very clean, and your fingers too. First, dry off your pointer finger on the inside of your arm and put the contact on it. Put in one drop of solution only. Hold your eye open with your middle finger of the same hand on the bottom lid, and the pointer finger of the other hand on the top lid. Make sure your eye is really wide open, otherwise it just slips out. It helps to make sure your eyelids are dry too, so your fingers don't slip. Taking a deep breath while putting it in helps me, since my hands don't shake as much. Hope this helps!

Look straight into the mirror. Have the contact on your middle finger, hold top eyelid with opposite hand and bottom lid with ring finger of the hand you have the contact on. Bring contact towards eye and touch the eye in the middle, Lift your upper lid and close down over contact to let any bubbles out. I always have a small amount of solution in the contact it sticks to the eye better. Good luck

You'll get used to it! I remember my first harrowing days. Try to relax (everybody says that, right?).
I never tried to put it right on my pupil/iris. I always stuck it in on the side corner (I would look toward my nose while doing this). A blink or two and the shape of the contact would migrate it over to the dome shape of my iris and Voila! Contact in the eye.
For removal I would do the same thing. Look away, get just the edge of the lense with my fingertip, adn drag it away over to the opposite corner of my eye and pull it out.

Try opening your eye wide, and looking to the side. Make sure that you have the contact lens on the tip of your finger. Place your finger on the white of your eye, and slide the contact to the middle. Remove your finger and gently close your eye. Press on your eyelid to remove any air bubbles, and move your eye from left to right to ensure it is inplace properly. If you have trouble blinking, try using your other hand to keep it open.
Keep trying, perhaps use some eye drops/saline solution before hand to prevent your eye getting too soon.

If you must wet your fingers as suggested above, make sure you use solution, not water, read that water and contacts can encourage bacteria growth on contacts and cause eye infections.
Just relax when putting them in, and tip your head back, put the contact on the end of your finger and gently place on your eye

Hold your eye open with your index finger and thumb on the hand that isn't holding the contact. Have the contact on your index finger with the solution in it and move your eye so that you are looking away from the contact...so that when you put it in your eye you are putting it on the white of your eye. Insert contact and look forward and your contact will slip right into place. Good Luck! (-:
