If you have a FAX/MODEM, then you only have to install FAX software like WINFAX. This would install softare that appears in your PRINTER section of the Control panel.

So with the phone line connected, you can take any document and PRINT IT out to the FAX printer. It would dial-up and send a Fax.

I use it all the time.

YES you can. If you sign up with an Internet fax provider you get your own personal fax number. Faxes are sent/received in your email inbox, so you can fax wherever you can access your email account. The recipient will receive the fax at their fax machine if they do not have an Internet fax account. It's really easy and reliable. For more information go to http://www.myfax.com

No. Both sending and receiving stations must have a fax machine.
Your option would be to forward what you want to send via fax to a friend via e-mail. They could pull up the document and transmit it over their fax machine. Otherwise, print out the message / document, take it to a business that sends fax messages. There is cost associated doing it this way.

What OS are you using? I know that WindowsXP has a fax capability built into.. you have to have an active land line phone though. Wont work with dsl and if it was not already activated on your comp.. you would need you Windows CD to install it.. If you have xp just go to control panel, look for printers and faxes and it should has if you want to set up faxing.. you can fax anything and it helps to have a scanner..it will also store faxes recieved so there is no need to have a printer to print them out.

Okay think about that question. How would you send some paper thru something that is not a fax? What would you send it thru so that it can be photocopied and sent?
