Well by popular believe, cats are sniffing your soul away. Some people believe that cats take your soul away through your breathe, but the truth is, cats are using your crotch to capture your soul.
Hide your pants and guard your crotch!!!!!

You cat is just checking out who owns those pants. Our smell is the strongest in the crotch area, which is why dogs like to sniff there as well. Maybe your cat wants to make sure that her favorite pet (you) doesn’t have anyone else competing for your cat’s attention.
Dogs do love to roll around on a stinky object; they do it to cover up their own scent. It would give them a better chance to be undetected when hunting for food. After all I don't know of a single deer that has been killed by a skunk. When cats roll around in someone’s clothes they could be exhibiting the same behavior. Cats like to stay clean though so they are less apt to do this, but they still have the hunter instinct, so some cats might do it.
Another reason why a cat would want to lay on "their person's" clothes would be to enjoy the smell of their favorite person. It would also give them a feeling of security from their primary source of food.

Cats are peculiarly great at sniffing out STD's. Chances are you have a severe infection and need to consult your family doctor. Bring along a pair of the pants so that the doctor can use a specially treated cotton swab on the crotch for testing.

cats like to smell anything that has been worn by people, particularly clothes that have been on body parts that sweat or are near mucous membranes. the crotch of your pants have both reason to allure a cat.

Cats like funky smells and even though you may not can smell it a cats sense of smell is alot greater than ours.....my cats also do that too. My cats also love to rub all over my feet and lick them lol so don't worry.

Men and women produce strong odors down there. Dogs, and cats find the smell interesting.

To smell you. My cats love to lay on clothes that have been recently worn and one absolutely loves the smell of shoes. Cats are very strong with their smell sense.

The cat must like you and find your clothes comforting. My cat used to smell my clothes all the time and sleep in my laundry.
