if we buy into the stereotypes.. yes... financially the child..would have the right father. he would be a stay at home ..attentive father.. a father that teaches.. and have you noticed most geeks grow up and marry beautiful mommies..for their kids.

Absolutely. If you want the security of knowing that the bills will get paid and things around the house will be fixed and the cars will always be maintained and running well, a geek makes a good father.

Non-geek fathers wrestle every day with the dilemma of paying the rent or playing poker every payday.

I like to think so because I was (am) one. I'm not focused on material things to attract women (fast cars, flashy clothes, etc.). I love my wife dearly (because after all she picked me!). My children are a blessing and I cherish every moment I spend with them (because all through school I was told that I would NEVER get a girl and look at me now, I'm a family man.). I also like to think that my focus on life is more cerebral, I'm a thinkin', learnin', teachin' kinda guy. Not a jock or tough guy...

Yeah, we make awesome fathers as long as our heads are screwed on straight...

I know lots of guys who are technically-gifted and are exceptional fathers... their kids are well-developed and well-mannered.
