Your iguana needs both sunlight & shade - make sure he can pick which one he needs!

It sounds as though your iguana is overheating, you can leave him outside but make sure he has a "hide-hole" to move into or some thick foliage that he can hide under (palm leaves work great, but keep in mind iguanas love to "test" things in there cage by chewing on them), he should always have an alternative to move out of the sun when he overheats. Also make sure fresh water is available at all times (preferably a container that he can submerge himself in - but not too deep or he'll drown) and that you keep the cage moist (you could use a sprinkler system or water bottle to water him twice a day), this allows his body to soak in the moisture and keep him cool and hydrated, but not too much, you don't want scale rot to develop!

Your iguana is overheated and for his or her age should only be outside for a matter of 30 to 45 minutes.

Your iguana is hot and trying to cool off same as dogs and cats when they pant. Make sure you leave him some water.

it is the exhillarating, hot SUN. just make sure it can drink and cant run away and dont stay too long and get too hot.
