Our next-door neighbors keep coming into our yard to trim bushes or do other yard work because they don't like how we keep it (Which is clean and mostly green-nothing that directly affects their property.)
Any law students reading this know what our rights are?

First thing is to ask your neighbors to stop doing it..
Then ask them again..
Then ask them again..
Always face to face..
Calling the police is a last resort and will create
permanant enemies..

It is trespassing. I would ask them to please stay in their yard and if the appearance of your yard bothers them so much they may want to consider a privacy fence. Be polite but firm. Personally I'd be darn happy if someone would come over and trim the bushes and do yard work. If they do weeding then they are Gods!

I'm not a lawyer, but I can tell you this much; They are trespassing, and committing vandalism. If you call the police, they will issue a trespass warning, so that if they enter your yard again, you can have them arrested. However, this will NOT make living next door to them any easier. Consider all of the ramifications before making that call.

The neighbor is trespassing. If you tell them to stop and they don't, call the police next time. Perhaps you could take a digital photo or video of them doing it in case they stop by the time the police show up. They can be cited and fined for trespassing etc.

Couldn't that be considered defacing property in some way or another

Or something to do with private property trespassing, just try sticking a sign in your yard that says no trespassing.

What they are doing is trespassing on your property because they are coming onto your property to do things without your consent or permission. If you see them doing this and you have a video camera, why don't you film them doing it. Then you could write a letter saying that you consulted a lawyer, shown him the video evidence and say that he advised you that you have very good chances at succeeding if you sued them in court. That should stop them.

Leave them a plate of chocolate chip cookies with a note thats says "thanks for being such great neighbors and for all the times you trimmed and landscaped our property; but we'd really prefer and enjoy taking care of our own property." If that doesn't get the message across, contact your local city hall.

What's wrong with a neighbor doing a good deed for you.
It's nothing devaluing or defacing your property so there isn't any malice being exhibited.
If it bothers you that much then mention it to him and ask him to knock it off.
Then give him my address. My grass sure could use a going-over.

You could probably take them to court or have a lawyer send them a letter ,but then that will cause alot of neighbor problems.
You are in a catch 22

I suggest you talk to them face to face. If you are uncomfortable with that, call the police while, or after they do this "bush trimming". The police will go talk to them. That's there job. If it happens after they are warned, you could possibly sue them for defacing your property.
