Yep as long as you don't walk in your flipper's like some of the tourists also don't freak out when you put your mask on. Heaps of people can't handle not breathing through their noses and panic. (well not heaps lets just say a few).

Don't stand on the reef cause it takes a long time to grow back.

It is fun and you go off into your own little world oogling at the amazing creatures.

Stay away from the crown of thorns star fish.( The real ugly prickly ones) poisonous too.

Pick up a sea slug, just avoid the stuff it squirts out cause its scared. It's a pain in the ar*se to get off you fingers. Ha ha a bit like................!!!!

Thank you for your question.

It depends if you like scuba diving or snorkeling.

If you do like it, the Great Barrier Reef is one of the best places to go. It is the world's biggest coral reef and can be seen from space.

The Great Barrier Reef is a large system of about 900 islands and over 3000 coral reefs, which mostly lie some distance from the mainland coastline. Due to its vast biodiversity, warm clear waters and its accessibility from the floating guest facilities called 'live aboards', the reef is a very popular destination for scuba divers. Many cities along the Queensland coast offer boat trips to the reef on a daily basis. Several continental islands have been turned into resorts.

I have attached further sources for your reference.

Regards
