Sounds good to me! My Dad is trying to talk me into getting a honda as a first car (i'm 18) Thats not at all what i wanted at first, but i'm starting to warm up to the idea. As long as it gets me to Tahoe and it has room for my snowboard etc and other "junk" (equipment) for my hobbies than yeah i'll go with it! ( i'm an outdoors girl in case you didn't already guess..lol) I hear they get good mpg. My Dad has one! He started with a 91 and just got a 97. Enjoy your car and i wish you well!!!

Get out your owner's manual and make sure everything that should have been done all these miles has been done. Most especially... ensure the timing belt was changed. If it wasn't or you can't verify it was, you will HAVE to replace it.
The best deal in town is a Honda approacing or at 100,000 miles and the original owner took good care of it but when it came time for the 90,000 mile service, the fees started escalating and they chose to sell it instead. I buy them specifically with this situation as the parts aren't expensive it's just a lot of labor, then I do it myself. If you aren't a car nut yourself and do all your own work, this will be something you can't tackle. Trust me though, Honda engines destroy themselves when that timing belt breaks.
Otherwise, it's a great deal if you got a good price.

The Accord is the best family sedan on the market, but whether YOUR car is a good one depends on how it was taken care of before you got it. If it was well taken care of, and you change the oil every 5000 miles ( major service at your HOnda dealer every 30,000) it will easily last you another 100,000 miles.

Hey good choice, I just bought a 2006 honda civic ,I did alot of checking on it first. as long you keep up with the oil changes every 3 thousand miles it will last for along time. honda is the best motor to last a long time. The sales men told me that someone brought in a honda with 500 thousand miles on it. i also chec on insurance, and honda was one of the cheapest for insurance. the accord is a step better then my civic. Have lots of fun with it.

Honda makes a good car and they will last 200,000 miles if properly cared for. There ARE some things you need to do to it to make it last that long, however: the primary one being the timing belt. If it breaks on that car it can bend valves, and destroy the motor!!
I have a list of things like that on my website: http://econofix.com/carkillers.html

good choice...the car was only driven 10,000 miles per year and is generally a reliable model.. Consider changing the oil and flushing the radiator now....so that you have the major maintenance taken care of. Also, if it is the original timing belt that should definitely be changed.

If the car is in good operating condition should be a fine first car, I would make sure the car is gone over thoroughly also to insure this.

yep! as long as you keep up with your oil changes (every 3,000) miles and keep it in tune, it should be a good car, I have a 99 honda civic with 89k miles and it still runs liek a dream. To get your peak gas mileage you should replace the air filter every 15,000 miles, you can install them your self. and keep your tires inflated to the proper psi and dont forget to get them rotated every 5k miles!

It's a great car, better than most American cars because Japanese cars are known for their reliability...
If you drive with care you can probably drive it for 150,000 miles more...
Great purchase!!!
Have fun and drive safe...
Don't forget to take it to the Honda dealers for a check-up regularly (i.e. every two - six months)...

Mileage doesn't mean anything, its the way it was maintained, and driven. My last car had close to 400,000 miles with no engine or transmission repair. It was a Ford
