Why big three car makers are producing more flex-fuel vehicles than hybrids?

Flex fuel is not really such a big deal, and it does not really save the taxpayer any money in the longrun, because the producers of ethanol are heavily subsidized with our tax dollars.
So, we will see more hybrids, fuel cell vehicles, etc. first.

Alcohol fuel has been around as long as gasoline, but it is only a temporary fix to the gasoline shortage. (if there really is a shortage) In my opinion, we will see a lot of flex fuel vehicles in the next few years, but newer technologies will soon have their fair share of the car market. I can't see an electric or fuel cell truck in the near future though.
