The odds of rolling a 5 or an even number is 4 to 2. Remember this is ODDS. Some of the answerers who say 4/6 are answering as probability, not odds.

how many people in the survey 12 + 8 = 20
prefer vanilla 12/20 or 3/5
predict 3/5 times 160 prefer vanilla or 96

A single die? 4/6 or 2/3

Didn't you say that the total in the group was 160? So, I guess 160 people were in the survey! 3 out of every 40 prefer vanilla - or 7.5%. I think you mentioned that 12 preferred vanilla, didn't you?
