It brings up two possibilities: If there were no meaning to anything; it would be meaningless to fight...and therefore not worth the time...as there is nothing to fight for.
On the other hand, If everything is meaningless; then there isn't an argument against fighting, either...and it hypothetically would make no difference....therefore, why not do it?
