There's a product called diatomaceous earth that kills snails, slugs, grub worms, caterpillars, and all sorts of bugs without any toxic chemicals. It's a powder, so you'll want to sprinkle it liberally around and on each plant.

It's basically microscopic fossilized sea shells that have been mined and turned into a powder. The microscopic pieces are sharp like broken glass, so they kill bugs when they crawl through it, but its harmless to people and pets. They even use the stuff in toothpaste because its mildly abrasive.

get a toad. they eat caterpillars but not carrots.

Just tell them not to eat your carrots, because it will make you very cross.

i could placed some leaves in there and perchance a stick. how am i meant to be responsive to whilst or what the butterfly is gonna be? i could shop them yet whilst they exchange into butterflys enable them to loose, kinda like letting your babies bypass off to college however the butterfly version ;)
