I really enjoyed reading the Left Behind Series. I thought they would be boring and too religious or something.. but they're actually very interesting and suspenseful. I think I believe in god because of them. I definately don't regret reading them, that's for sure. You should definatley consider reading them.. TRUST ME! I know people that like them, that don't even enjoy reading that much. There are the kid's series too..but I think I would read the adult series.

If you liked the Harry Potter series, then I think you would love "A Wizard of Earthsea" and other books by Ursula K. Le Guin.
Before there was Hogwarts, there was Earthsea... (these books were written in the late seventies/early eighties).
Book 1: A Wizard of Earthsea
Book 2: The Tombs of Atuan
Book 3: The Farthest Shore
Book 4: Tehanu
Another great series is from Monica Furlong. Her book, "Juniper" remained one of my favorite books when I was a teen.
Book 1: Juniper
Book 2: Wise Child
Book 3: Colman
Note: "Wise Child" is actually the first book, but "Juniper" is the prequel... so you might as well read that one first.
Hope this helps...
Good Reading... T.

Hmm, I know it's not exactly what you're looking for, but "To Kill A Mockingbird" by Harper Lee is a great read. It was the one book I read in school that was easy to read and I enjoyed it so much.
If you like Harry Potter, you may also want to look at some of the Star Wars Jedi Knights series would be good.

Stephenie Meyer's book Twilight is a great book. I highly recommend it. It is a YA book.
Bella Swan could almost be your average teen, although slightly clumsy, until she falls for the mysterious boy--and biology lab partner--at her high school. There's something about him...she doesn't quite know what she's in for...but she's head over heels. His secret? He's a vampire.
Also a trilogy by Scott Westerfeld (Uglies; Pretties; Specials) is very good. They're set in the future where one's looks are determined by a 'pretty committee' to make sure everyone is treated fairly and justly. But there's a price to pay for having the perfect body...

What! No Charles Dickens! Sheesh.
All right, The Adventures of Tom Sawyer, by Mark Twain. Its sequel, The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn (this one's more for teens).
Lemony Snicket's A Series of Unfortunate Events.
...for starters.

If you like Harry Potter, then King Fortis the Brave would be a perfect choice for you. It's about a pair of twins that are brought into a magical world where they are forced to help overthrow an evil sorceress that has conquered most of the land.

If you liked Harry Potter, you might like some of my faves:
Howl's Moving Castle by Dianna Wynne Jones
The Chronicles of Narnia by CS Lewis
The Lord of the Rings by JRR Tolkein
The Adventures of Sherlock Holmes by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle
I highly recommend Howl's for you. If you're a girl (I didn't check before answering- silly me), you might like the Mediator series by Meg Cabot.

The Omen by David Seltzer
It's a real page-turner. If you like Harry Potter I'm sure you will like it.
Some might say that it's horror but I disagree; I would put it in the supernatural genre.
